GET MAD AS HELL WITH US!
Click to DonateIn 2016 and in 2024 a Woman has been in touching distance of becoming President of the United States, against this backdrop of seeming progress we have watched as many hard won rights of Women are being reversed or challenged not just in the USA but around the world.
Women’s anger is universal, it is something that can not be attributed to one demographic, and yet how we respond to it is often determined by race, class or country. Our film will seek to look at how the power of Women’s anger has been harnessed to create change. Whilst we will examine the large-scale movements such as the Suffragettes, Me Too, Black Lives Matter and the fall of Roe vs Wade, we will also look at smaller moments, Lois Gibbs and her fight against the chemical spills at Love Canal is just one example.
The goal is to hear from as many Women as possible, looking at how their anger has been demonised or weaponised and how they have turned that into revolution. No modern-day movement has been untouched by the power of Women’s anger and yet it is still used to shame us, silence and suppress us.
This film will interweave archive and testimony with animation to take us on a journey from Salem to Los Angeles via London, South Korea, Afghanistan and Iran because despite the different goals of each moment, one thing is clear
"In Women's anger-lies the power to change the world."
The film will open on election day as our cameras follow various groups of Women as they do all they can to help make history in the last few hours before the polls close. As day turns into night and tensions grow, the film will look back through interviews, archive footage and case studies and look at how we arrived at this moment.
We need your help to finance our first round of filming that will kick off on election day.
The money raised will pay our all-female crew, cover travel costs and buy the necessary archive footage, in addition it will facilitate filming our first round of interviews early next year.
